Institutional Transparency of European Funds in Romania

The project aims at improving transparency of institutions that manage post-accession European
funds in Romania, through monitoring the enforcement of access to public information and
transparency of decision-making laws and through dissemination of good practices of enforcement
of the said laws.

The project specific objectives were:

1. To identify ‘vulnerable areas’ regarding the enforcement of transparency laws by the institutions
that manage post-accession European funds in Romania.
2. To monitor the enforcement of the transparency laws by the institutions that manage
post-accession European funds in Romania.
3. To disseminate good practices on enforcement of the transparency laws by the institutions that
manage post-accession European funds in Romania.

The project activities to be implemented were:

1. Documentary research on the enforcement of transparency laws by the institutions that manage
post-accession European funds in Romania.
2. Monitoring of the enforcement of the transparency laws by the institutions that manage
post-accession European funds in Romania.
3. Drafting the monitoring report on the enforcement of the transparency laws by the institutions
that manage post-accession European funds in Romania.

that manage post-accession European funds in Romania.
5. Organizing a conference on debating the best practices on enforcement of the transparency laws
by the institutions that manage post-accession European funds in Romania

The institutions that manage post-accession European funds in Romania will be more capable of
enforcing the current legal requirements on transparency, especially access to public information and
transparency of decision-making. This will be done through disseminating the best practices resulted
under the project. The project beneficiaries will better interact with the institutions that manage
post-accession European funds in Romania, leading to minimizing interaction time, improving the
quality of answers to information requests, reducing the effort to obtain relevant information and
maximizing chances to submit acceptable proposals.
